The Jackson Energy Authority Board of Directors passed eight resolutions when members held their monthly meeting, Thursday.
The Board –
Approved the purchase of wood distribution poles for the Electric Division.
Authorized the purchase of one new Bobcat Compact Track Loader and a 60-foot Forestry Cutter for the Electric Division.
Approved the purchase of 1,500 residential and light commercial gas meters.
Adopted Jackson Energy Authority’s Drought Management Plan – DMP.
Authorized additional Cityworks software licenses from Azteca Systems, LLC.
Appointed a new member – Ted Austin – to the Employee Health Plan Benefits Committee.
Appointed a new member – Mike Baughn – to the Retirement Plan Administrative Committee.

Authorized the purchase of natural gas from the Tennergy Corporation; approving the execution and delivery of a natural gas supply agreement relating to said purchase; and consenting to the assignment of certain obligations under the gas supply agreement in connection with the issuance of bonds by the Tennergy Corporation.
“We approved a long term agreement for our natural gas supply,” Jim Ferrell, president/CEO of JEA said. “This will allow us to purchase gas for the next 30 years at a discounted rate. Also, the Board approved a drought management plan for our water system in the event we have a long, extended period of drought … it’s a plan for us to enact to maintain our water supply level.”
