Residents rallied to prevent this business from opening

Residents turned out in numbers and voiced their opposition at City Hall Monday, of a proposed opening of a nightclub in their neighborhood at 32 Rebel Road, in south Jackson.

Joe Gullett, who managed the American Legion at 165 Perry Switch Road, was denied the request by the Board of Zoning Appeals at City Hall, Monday, to open the facility, that would have occupied 1,663-square-feet.

The primary reason for denial was the proximity of 18 residences near the proposed club, which is about 200 feet from South Highland Avenue.

Gullett could not be reached for comment.
