Michael Jenkins, owner of J&M Properties, hopes to turn a vacant building at 154 Hollywood Drive into an office where renters can lease property or make rental payments.
Jenkins owns about 45 rental properties in Jackson.
According to the Jackson-Madison County Register of Deeds, he purchased the facility from the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local Union 6 Trustees of the Building Committee of United Association of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters for $45,000.
The building consists of about 2,400-square-feet, and Jenkins said he hopes to have the facility operational in early fall.
“It is always the hope of the city to take vacant buildings and restore them,” said City Councilwoman Marda Wallace, District 7, “This is continues to show the progress being made in the LANA and downtown Jackson area.”
Wallace also serves on the Planning Commission Board.
