JACKSON, Tenn. – On Monday Tennova Healthcare officials announced its expansion westward with the addition of four more hospitals.
Regional Hospital of Jackson, Dyersburg Regional Medical Center, Volunteer Community Hospital (Martin) and McNairy Regional Hospital (Selmer) are now part of a system formed four years ago. The addition will enhance access and improve coordination of care for patients at all member hospitals.
Tennova is now one of the largest healthcare systems in the state with 11 hospitals and more than 80 physician clinics. The network includes approximately 1,800 licensed beds, 1,700 physicians on the combined active medical staffs, and 6,800 employees, with more than 51,000 admissions and 300,000 emergency department visits each year.
“Tennova has been a successful network in East Tennessee,” said Charlie Miller, chief executive officer, Tennova – Regional Jackson. “Under the same brand, our community will recognize us as part of an organization with the shared commitment to high quality care across the state.”
Hospitals already in the network include Jefferson Memorial Hospital (Jefferson City), LaFollette Medical Center, Lakeway Regional Hospital (Morristown), Newport Medical Center, North Knoxville Medical Center (Powell), Physicians Regional Medical Center (Knoxville) and Turkey Creek Medical Center (Knoxville).
Miller said, as part of a statewide network, hospitals have access to shared expertise and resources that improve access to care, physician recruitment and quality of care.
Other programs and services are also part of the network, including affiliated physician clinics and emergency medical services. All network facilities are affiliated with Community Health Systems.
To celebrate the announcement with Jackson/Madison County community, Regional Jackson plans to host tailgate events before the football games at Northside High School on September 18th and Southside High School on October 2nd.
Hospitals in the network will be easy to recognize with new signage and an advertising campaign featuring the Tennova name and NFL quarterback Peyton Manning, the former University of Tennessee football standout who serves as the brand spokesperson.
