From the Jackson Police Department –
Recently, the City of Jackson has seen an increase in gun violence.
In light of this, the Jackson Police Department has initiated additional focused efforts to identify and apprehend those associated with gun violence and related criminal behavior.
Pursuant to JPD’s mission to improve the quality of life for all citizens by reducing problems associated with crime, Jackson Police will be implementing ‘Blue Impact.’
This is a multi-faceted operation designed to focus on specific criminal behavior, identifying, locating and arresting the offenders, and pursuing prosecutions with maximum sentencing. Resources from within the Jackson Police Department, as well as those from state and federal law enforcement partners will be utilized.
In reference to the implementation of Blue Impact, JPD Police Chief Thom Corley stated: “The citizens of Jackson deserve to feel safe, and should not have to tolerate incidents like those that have occurred recently.
“The message is simple. If you are involved with gun violence in this City, you’re getting locked up.”
