Bill Way is widely known for his nearly 3 decades as host of WNWS 101.5 FM radio show “It’s Your Turn”. There is no doubt that’s where legions of his fans first discovered Bill Way. During his reign on radio, Bill received numerous Readers Choice awards for “Favorite Show” and “Favorite Host”. He was highly sought for endorsements because of his recognizable voice. Above all, he was the consummate entertainer who understood that the star of the show was the listener. Bill Way loved to tell stories and he could tell them better than anyone else.

But he truly is the King of all west Tennessee media.

Bill found success in advertising and PR as a co-owner of Way Wilcher Advertising, a partner in TRTV, owner-publisher of The New City Magazine, host of Area Code 901, and in social media as well. Bill Way has had success in every form of west Tennessee media.

Bill Way’s notoriety doesn’t stop there. Bill is a songwriter, singer, and had a long career with the Delacardos until they retired.

Bill had recently returned to radio after a one-year sabbatical. According to his daughter, after his November 16 show, Bill went to the hospital and that afternoon learned he had a large mass on his pancreas and spots on his liver.

In a public statement from his family, the decision was made to move Bill to hospice. He is not in pain but his condition has deteriorated rapidly.

His family understands that their husband and father has lived a very public life but at this time they ask for prayers and for privacy as they spend their time together. Your prayers for his comfort and peace and gratefully appreciated.

It seems that Bill has done his last radio show, told the last of his famous stories, and entertained us all for the last time. But when you remember him include in your memories that Bill Way lived the kind of life few only dream of and he always did it his way.
