LIFELINE Blood Services is in critical need of all blood types. Currently there is less than one day’s supply of
blood for patients in local hospitals. “We are issuing an immediate appeal for blood in order to meet the
demands for West Tennessee patients,” said Joe Schifano, CEO at LIFELINE Blood Services. Recently, blood
donations have not been enough to supply hospital needs. “The current situation is serious and without
immediate response from blood donors, the blood inventory for West Tennessee patients could reach
dangerous levels,” he added.
All eligible blood donors are urged to give blood this week. LIFELINE Blood Services, 183 Sterling Farms
Drive, Jackson, will be open extended hours during this appeal:
Monday, August 18 through Friday, August 22, 2014, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Please call 800-924-6572 or 731-427-4431.
In addition to the extended hours in the Center, LIFELINE Bloodmobiles
will be visiting West Tennessee communities this week.
