Prayer vigil scheduled for Clark Shaw, CEO Old Country Store, Monday

According to Brooks Shaw, his father, Clark, had a MRI done this morning, and there are signs of a stroke.

Brooks is the general manager of The Old Country Store at Casey Jones Village, and Clark Shaw, who was hospitalized with COVID-19 on Nov. 18,  is the CEO.

“Some tests are still being run, but they are suspecting DIC (Disseminated intravascular coagulation), which is where your body sends small clots in multiple areas. Areas of concern for him are bleeds, liver, kidneys, and brain.”

A prayer vigil will be held at at The Farm at Casey Jones Village, at 4 p.m., Monday.

“He is still on the vent and under sedation. They have been able to ween him down on the ventilator settings and lungs are performing well, which is an improvement. His heart shows some signs of injury but is still working properly. His liver and kidneys also show some signs of injury but they hope those are reversible.

“The major concern is the extent of the stroke. As I said, more tests are being run to determine the extent of the damage. It appears that there are small clots scatter throughout the brain instead of a centralized area of massive damage, which may minimize damage. It’s just too early to tell.

“We are praying that his blood will return to normal, clotting factors will decrease, and the stroke damage will be minimal.

“The news is not good, but we are prayerful that Clark’s story has many more chapters that will be written.”
