Police Investigate Saturday Night Shooting on Carolane; Officers Find Felony Amounts of Cocaine and Marijuana Inside Apartment Where Shooting Occurred; Man Arrested 
 
 
Jackson police are investigating a Saturday night shooting, and a man who lived where the shooting happened was arrested for possession of cocaine and marijuana. 
 
Shortly after 9 p.m., police were called to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. A 21-year-old man had arrived by private vehicle with gunshots to both hands and his left arm. 
 
The man told officers that he was at 94-L Carolane Drive when he heard a knock. Upon opening the door, he was shot by an unknown person. The shooter was described as a black man, 5' 9" tall and 20 to 30-years old. 
 
The victim was treated and released from the hospital. 
 
Officers went to the scene of the shooting and spoke with the resident, Travis Conner. Conner, 67, allowed officers to search his duplex for evidence in the shooting. During the search, officers discovered in plain view 1.4 grams of cocaine, 113.4 grams of marijuana and various items of drug paraphernalia throughout the apartment. 
 
Conner told officers that he lived there alone. He was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. 
 
Conner is scheduled to be formally arraigned via video link at 8 a.m. Monday in Jackson City Court.
