(September 5, 2014) Jackson TN — According to authorities, shortly after midnight on Friday , Jackson police responded to a report of a robbery on 5th Street in South Jackson.
Investigators tell us that victims told officers that they answered a knock at their door and were confronted by two men armed with handguns. The suspects stole cash, car keys, cell phones and a handgun. The victims described both suspects as black men in their 20s.
Then two more victims were discovered. They told officers that they had just arrived at the same house on 5th Street when they were approached in the street by the two suspects who had just committed the first robbery. They told officers that the suspects pointed handguns at them and demanded money. The suspects took cash, cell phones and keys.
Officers were quickly able to identify one suspect, and he was taken into custody at a home on Wiley Street in South Jackson.
The suspect is presently being held for questioning at the Madison County Jail.
His name is being withheld pending formal charges.
Investigators have a person of interest as the second suspect involved. That person’s name is also being withheld at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
