(April 7, 2014) JACKSON Tenn – Two Jackson men were arrested as they were trying to burglarize an East Jackson home.
On April 5th at 1030PM, police responded to a call from an alert neighbor who had seen two unknown suspects trying to kick in the door of a house in the 200 block of Lenoir Avenue. The resident was not home at the time and the suspects were not able to get inside. The suspects were detained on an adjacent street. Probable cause was developed and the pair was arrested for Criminal Attempt to Commit Aggravated Burglary. They were identified as Whitley J. Graham, 24 and Julius A. Whittaker, 21. Both are being held in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
The Jackson Police Department recommends that citizens call in suspicious activity whenever they see it. Neighbors that look out for each other have always been an excellent way of fighting crime.
