(July 28, 2014) Jackson TN – A 17-year-old Jackson teen has been arrested in connection with Sunday’s double shooting in Parkway East Apartments that left a teen dead and another victim critically injured.
Investigators developed a case and according to their investigation the 17-year-old male shot and killed 17-year-old Shomari Peterson Jr., and a 21-year-old man. Investigators obtained a delinquent juvenile petition charging the 17-year-old male with first-degree murder of Peterson and attempted first-degree murder of the man.
The Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, developed a location on the teen and took him into custody at 8:30 Monday night in Jackson.
The teen will be held at the Madison County Juvenile Detention Center pending a detention hearing in Madison County Juvenile Court.
The District Attorney has indicated that his office will file a motion to have the teen tried as an adult.
Investigators continue to seek a second person of interest in connection with the shootings.
