Man Arrested for March 3 Shooting,
Police Continue to Investigate March 16 Shooting. Victim Remains in Critical Condition
Investigators with the Jackson Police Department Gang Unit arrested Ladairus Maxwell, 18, of Jackson, around 4:30 p.m. today. They found him sitting in a parked car in the 20 block of Caldwell Place. He was taken to the Madison County Jail and faces charges of Aggravated Assault for a March 3 shooting. He is scheduled to be formally arraigned Monday at 8 a.m. in Jackson City Court.
On March 3 shortly before 3 p.m., a 26-year-old man was approached by Maxwell in Lincoln Courts. Maxwell shot at him
multiple times but the man was not injured.
On March 16 around 1: 35 p.m., the same 26-year-old man was a passenger in a car and was riding in Lincoln Courts. He and a family member rode past a group of people who were standing outside. A shot was fired and the man was struck in the right shoulder. He was driven to Jackson- Madison County General Hospital. He remains in critical condition.
