
JACKSON Tenn — On Monday the Madison County Grand Jury indicted Charles Pittman, of Jackson, for first-degree murder and tampering with evidence in connection with the February death of his fiancée, Olivia Greenlee, on Union University’s campus in Jackson, TN.
The 22-year-old Pittman, who continues to be held at the Madison County Jail without bond, is scheduled to be arraigned at 8 a.m. next Monday in Madison County Circuit Court, Division I.
Around 8 a.m. Feb. 12 Jackson police were called to the parking lot of Luther Hall on Union’s campus after 21-year-old Greenlee, was found dead inside her Toyota Corolla.
According to authorities, police investigators and an assistant county medical examiner found a gun inside the car. The cause of death was determined to be a single gunshot wound.
According to police investigators, Greenlee’s fiancé, Pittman was developed as a person of interest. Investigators alledge that Pittman shot Greenlee as she sat inside her car at Luther Hall and then staged the crime scene to give the appearance that Greenlee had committed suicide.
On Feb. 14, Pittman was arrested in Jackson and charged with Greenlee’s murder.
Pittman and Greenlee were both Union students.
