Emily Pennington, Miss Northwest Tennessee, and Erin Sharp, Miss Germantown, were preliminary winners during the Miss Tennessee Volunteer Scholarship Pageant at the Carl Perkins Civic Center, Friday.
Pennington – who is employed at Grace Media Group – NEWS/TALK 101.5 FM, 93.1 FM & WNWS.COM – was named the winner in Fitness and Wellness, and Sharp won the talent portion for the evening.
The finals will be held at 7 p.m., Saturday.
With 36 women participating for the crown, the winner of the Miss Tennessee Volunteer Scholarship Pageant will serve as Gov. Bill Lee’s spokesperson for character education and receive $25,000 in scholarship money.
The winner of the pageant also qualifies for the Miss Volunteer America Pageant, which will be held June 19-22, 2024, in Jackson.
