It’s been a little over two-and-a-half-years since ground was broken on the southeast corner of Dr. F.E. Wright Drive and Whitehall Street for a new 18,000-square-foot retail center.

Bennigan’s is scheduled to become the first tenant, but company officials are not sure when the Irish pub-themed casual dining restaurant will open.

Officials could not comment about the delay.

When the restaurant opens, it will occupy about 5,000-square-feet in the center – Bre Avenue at Madison Place.

The restaurant is owned by Donald and Kimberly Lloyd, who also own the Huddle House restaurant, which is adjacent to the new retail center at 1118 Whitehall Street.

Huddle House opened January 16, 2017.
