An act of kindness has been rewarded in the form of a new Samsung front loading clothes washer and dryer for Jackson Careers and Technology Middle School, at 668 Lexington Avenue.
The gift, presented to James Walker, principal of the school, was courtesy of a Foundation in Florida that supports Law Enforcement.
The Foundation noticed a viral photograph of a compassionate William Haley, a deputy with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, providing a homeless man with lunch at exit 87 at Interstate 40 on January 2.
It resulted in what James Walker termed “a real blessing.”
John Mehr, sheriff of Madison County, also hopes the ‘act of kindness,’ will serve as an inspiration for others.
He emphasized the important role Law Enforcement plays in the lives of our children and their parents.
“We hope this one ‘act of kindness’ will inspire all of us to serve others more often,” Mehr said, “It further demonstrates that the national perception of Law Enforcement is not the same as it is in Jackson and Madison County.”
