Nashville is one of 20 cities still in the running for Amazon’s second headquarters.
In September, Amazon, which is based in Seattle, announced plans to invest $5 billion creating a second headquarters that would create up to 50,000 high-paying jobs in buildings potentially totaling more than eight million square feet.
Amazon would begin with about 500,000 square feet and expand the campus over a decade and a half.
East and South Nashville, property near the Nashville International Airport and Williamson County are mentioned as possible areas for the new headquarters – if Nashville is selected.
Amazon received proposals from 238 cities and regions in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
