(December 3, 2013) Jackson, Tenn.- The Tennessee State Conference NAACP held their World AIDS Day observance brunch and awareness forum in Jackson on Tuesday afternoon.
State President Gloria J. Sweet-Love and Jackson Branch President Harrell Carter were on hand for the forum whose theme was “Getting to Zero: Listen, Learn, Live!”
At the beginning of the program, State Representative Johnny Shaw presented a plaque to the organization recognizing their December program.
The program was broken up into three sessions, each session covering a different facet. The first session was, “The Role of the Black Church in addressing HIV/AIDS.”
The second session was “Knowing the Facts,” followed by the third and final session, “Prevention and Intervention.”
