Murderer Suspect Captured in Jackson, His Sister and A Haywood County Man Are Also In Custody
Acting on a request from the St Louis Police Department and information developed through investigation the US Marshal’s and Officers with the Jackson Police Department learned that a wanted fugitive was in the Jackson area.
On Friday at approximately 11:30 AM officers executed a warrant for Bryant L Evans at 1225 North Highland Avenue, LaParee Apartments. Evans was wanted by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department for Homicide.
According to U.S. Marshal Jeff Holt Bryant L. Evans was wanted in connection with a September 4, 2014 incident in St. Louis where police responded to a call of a vehicle on fire.
Investigators say when police arrived they found a victim inside the burning car and later determined the victim had been shot. Arrest warrants were issued on October 8 charging Evans with First Degree Murder, Tampering with Evidence, Armed Criminal Action and Abandonment of a Corpse after he was identified as a suspect.
Investigators reached out to the U.S. Marshals when they determined Evans had fled the St. Louis area. Marshals say it was later discovered Evans had traveled to Jackson.
Marshals say they found Evans at the location hiding under a pile of clothes. Marshals say they had learned the address is the residence of the fugitive’s sister, Brittany Evans. Brittany Evans was arrested at the scene when officers learned she had an outstanding warrant for theft
A third suspect, Markee Hoskins who was wanted by the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office on Theft and Narcotics charges was also taken into custody.
All three subjects were transported to the Madison County Jail to await further hearings on their charges.
