Motorcycle driver’s injuries are serious after colliding with a van

JACKSON Tenn. (March 21, 2017) — Jackson police are investigating an early afternoon crash involving a motorcycle.

The motorcycle and a van collided Tuesday afternoon. Police say the motorcycle driver was thrown through the van windshield.

Lt. Derick Tisdale, public information officer, Jackson Police Department said the motorcycle driver’s injuries are serious. The driver of the van was not injured.

The wreck occurred at approximately 12:20 p.m., Tuesday at the intersection of Dr. F.E. Wright Drive and Whitehall.

Jackson police say the motorcycle driver was airlifted to a local hospital.

Authorities say warm brings out bike riders and asks all motorists to show extra caution.

Lt. Tisdale said, “these bikes are out, so we just ask people to use caution, be cautious of the intersections, Tisdale added, if you are a vehicle rider, be cautious of your surroundings.”

This is an ongoing crash investigation, according to police.
