Mother Daughter charged in stabbing

JACKSON, Tenn. (June 30, 2017) — Two women charged in connection with a stabbing on Glendale Street had an appearance in city court.

Ebony Pruitt is charged one count of second-degree murder in the June 21 death of 34-year-old Kelset Price.

Vernetta Pruitt, Pruitt’s mother, is charged with tampering with evidence.

The hearing was reset to allow Vernetta Pruitt more time to find an attorney. Ebony is represented by attorney Daniel Taylor.

A motion to reduce Vernetta Pruitt’s bond from $25,000 was denied.

Ebony Pruitt’s bond remains at $150,000.

Both remain in custody in the Madison County Jail and the next court appearance is set for July 6.
