(January 22, 2014) Jackson, Tenn.- The Friends of the Jackson-Madison County Library announced upcoming speakers coming to the area from February to May.
On February 6 at noon, Dorcas Davis, a new board member of the Friends of the Jackson-Madison County Library, has Florence Roach to visit. She played maid #1 in the movie made from “The Help” by Kathryn Stockett.
Matt Tomlin hosts Elzie Danley on March 6. He will review A. Scott Berg’s biography of Woodrow Wilson Called “Wilson.”
For Poetry Month, James Cherry will have University of Memphis poet and author John Bensko on April 3.
May 2 sees a plant swap, courtesy of Margaret Rucker. Bill Wyatt will present his presentation called, “Vegetable Gardening in Containers.”
Also in May, Jennifer Pharr Davis, National Geographic Adventurer of the year for 2012, will speak. Her program is titled, "Called Again: An Evening with 2012 National Geographic Adventurer of the Year Jennifer Pharr Davis”
All events take place at noon. Jennifer Davis’s speech will take place at 6:15PM. Ms. Davis will also sign her book at the North Branch, from 3 to 5 PM earlier that day.
