JACKSON, Tenn. (April 30, 2015) – A Northeast middle school student was removed from school Wednesday authorities say, after disorderly behavior and an alleged assault on a school resource officer.
Deputies said an argument between students turned into verbal assault of school staff. reportedly the student punched the school resource officer in the face and chest, according to P.I.O. Tom Mapes
Sheriff John Mehr said “She was very abusive to the principal and she got abusive to the deputy, stating she was not going to leave and wasn’t anybody going to basically tell her what to do”.
Deputies said it took two officers to handcuff and remove the student.
The 8th grader female student faces charges including: assault, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. The student also faces school discipline. There were no reported injuries.
Jackson-Madison County School officials had no comment.
