Megasite set to announce 2nd tenant

Details are limited, but a second tenant is set to announce it will take the 500 remaining acres at the Memphis Regional Megasite in Haywood County.

Clay Bright, CEO of the Memphis Regional Megasite, made the announcement when the Haywood County Commission met, Monday.

Governor Bill Lee appointed Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner Clay Bright as the Chief Executive Officer of the Megasite Authority of West Tennessee in October 2021, which will oversee the development of the Ford plant in Stanton.

The announcement becomes official in the next two- to three months.

In September 2021, the Ford Motor Company announced it would invest $5.6 billion for an electric vehicle and battery manufacturing campus that will create 5,800 jobs at the 4,100-acre Megasite.
