Jackson attorney Mark Patey, who became new General Sessions Division I Judge for Madison County, June 1, 2025, has been removed from the May 5, 2026 Republican Primary ballot.
Patey is not considered to be a ‘bona fide’ Republican because he has not voted Republican in at least three of the last four primaries.
The ruling was handed down by the Republican Party in Tennessee.
Patey was selected by the Madison County Commissioners after receiving 16 of the 25 possible votes.
Two candidates for seats as Madison County Commissioners – Lance Miller and Wesley Doyle have also had their names removed by the Republican State Committee.
Miller was running in District 6 and Doyle in District 10.
