Man scheduled for arraignment after threatening to blow up Jackson Energy Authority

From the Jackson Police Department

[Jackson, TN] – On September 25, 2025, the Jackson Police Department received a report of a social media post containing a threat about “blowing up” Jackson Energy Authority.

The department promptly notified Jackson Energy Authority of the threat and initiated an investigation.

The investigation led to the identification of Reginald Hurd as the individual responsible for making the threat.

Hurd admitted to investigators that he made the post in anger, clarifying that he had no intention of carrying out the threat. Consequently, Hurd was charged with False Reports.

He was arrested and transported to the Madison County Criminal Justice Center, with an arraignment scheduled in Jackson City Court on September 26, 2025.

The Jackson Police Department takes threats of violence seriously, prioritizing the protection of citizens and the prevention of violence when credible threats are reported.
