Man identified as shooter in Tyion Taylor murder

Services for murder victim Saturday

Funeral services are Saturday at 2pm for Tyion Taylor. Taylor was murdered in Stanton, Tennessee Sunday night. Friday afternoon the Haywood County Sheriff’s Department issued multiple warrants for Darrell Dewayne Davis, 29, who they believe killed Taylor.

In a news release issued from the sheriff’s department, Davis is described as a black male who has a Brighton, Tennessee address. He has not been arrested and the release declares he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Davis was recently released from jail after serving time for murder, robbery and kidnapping, according to Haywood County Sheriff Billy Garrett Jr. He is a “confirmed” gang member, according to the sheriff’s department statement.

Taylor was found dead early Sunday night inside of his car where it was parked at 12693 Highway 70 West. He had been shot multiple times. Sheriff’s investigators say Davis was in the car and fired the shots. A second person, a woman, was also involved but the sheriff’s department has not yet issued an additional arrest warrant.

Davis will face charges of first degree murder, especially aggravated robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

Money and illegal drugs were found in Taylor’s car.

If you have information about Davis’ whereabouts, call Crimestoppers at 772-CASH or the Haywood County Sheriff’s office.
