JACKSON, Tenn. (June 2, 2015) – A man appeared in Jackson City Court on charges of assaulting an officer and trespassing.
According to an affidavit, police were on patrol when they saw a man they knew as Everett Johnson standing outside a convenience store in the 100 block of Lexington Avenue.
According to officers, they knew he was on a “No Trespass” due to previous panhandling. Officers state, Johnson resisted being handcuffed and swung at one of the officers with a closed fist, grazing the officer’s face.
Everett Johnson is charged with simple assault of an officer, resisting arrest and criminal trespassing.
