JACKSON Tenn (June 9, 2014) – Suspects sought after man beaten to death inside his apartment.

Police are searching for five suspects as they investigate the Sunday night beating of a Jackson man inside his apartment, according to Jackson Police.
Police said Rico Swift, 31, was found unresponsive inside his apartment, at 500 Liberty Street, .
Swift was pronounced dead after being taken by ambulance to the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
According to the release, based on the preliminary investigation, around 9:30 Sunday evening Swift and his girlfriend were inside the apartment when the incident occurred . Investigators developed information that Swift sold illegal drugs from that apartment. Police said there was a knock at the apartment door and two black men were allowed in and were followed inside by three other black men.
The suspects, once inside, began beating Swift and his girlfriend while making demands. Swift’s girlfriend was knocked unconscious and the suspects took property and left the apartment.
Police said Swift was likely targeted for drugs and/or money.
The release said all five suspects were identified as black men. Authorities have descriptions on two of the suspects.
One suspect was described as being bald, in his 20s, standing about 5 feet and 6 inches tall and having a stocky build. Another suspect was described as having a dread-lock hair style, in his 20s, standing about 5 feet and 10 inches with a skinny build.
