JACKSON Tenn — On Thursday Lowe Finney officially qualified to become a candidate for Mayor of Jackson.
Finney’s petition to appear on the ballot for the municipal elections was accepted and filed by the Madison County Election Commission.
“Over the last several months, we’ve enjoyed numerous conversations around Jackson with residents who are ready to embrace new leadership and new solutions for the challenges facing our community. I am honored to have the support of so many people who’ve come alongside us as we focus on making Jackson the best city it can be,” Finney stated.
Campaign finance disclosures from February 2, indicated that Finney has over $170,000 in campaign funds.
Finney announced his intention to run for Jackson’s top elected post last August.
The election for mayor and the city council will be held on May 5.
