The handwriting is on the wall when it comes to public service for Tennalum employees – especially at the Regional Interfaith Association.
“Tennalum has supported RIFA since 2011, and we’re honored to help underwrite part of the cost of this mural,” said Mark Lane, general manager at Tennalum, “This is a beautiful emblem for Jackson, and we’re very proud to be a part of this – all 180 employees of Tennulum are very proud of this. We’ll continue to support RIFA in the future.”
The mural Mark mentioned is ‘LOVE THE ONE IN FRONT OF YOU,’ which was dedicated, Friday.
Artist Erin Miller Williams (Instagram: @erinmillerwilliams), also painted the original mural at RIFA, ‘Hope will lead us there,’ in April 2017.
“We want to thank our sponsors, Tennessee Arts Commission, Jackson Arts Council and Tennulum for helping to make this happen,” said Lisa Tillman, executive director at the Regional Interfaith Association. “This is a beautiful piece of art, that will be inspiring and send a message of hope to the people we serve and the people who see this. And it’s also our way of beautifying our little corner of downtown Jackson.”
Melinda Reid, executive director of the Jackson Arts Council, said her organization appreciates its community partnership with the Regional Interfaith Association.
“This fiscal year, RIFA was a recipient of one of our grants that we manage, called Arts Builds Communities,” Melinda said. “It is our wish that this beautiful mural enhances our communities identity and strengthens our social networks through community engagement.
“We applaud RIFA for utilizing and valuing art as an additional layer to effectively communicate (its) mission of reaching out and lifting up.”
