(August 15, 2013) Nashville, Tenn.- The Tennessee Department of Education is awarding $8 million in funding to multiple school districts.
This Scope of Work Supplemental Fund will be given to the districts that agree to implement certain initiatives that are part of the First to the Top plan.
Those choosing to opt into the program had to complete at least one option out of the three categories of teacher evaluation, common core state standards implementation, and student assignment. The implementation dates range from the 2013-2014 school year to the 2014-2015 school year.
Districts receiving funding include Bells City School District, Chester County School District, Crockett County School District, Humboldt City Schools, Jackson-Madison County School District, Lexington City Schools, and Trenton Special School District.
