JACKSON Tenn – Monday was a “great day” according to nurse practitioner, Dr. John Michael Briley. Briley and his partners own the building at 1365 South Highland Ave. in Jackson TN. The building houses several businesses including Primary Care South. Briley, who has not been in a medical practice since he surrendered his license 4 years ago, says Monday was another step closer to seeing patients again.
After surrendering his license he contracted with a group to run his established practice. Briley says when he tried to return to work he was told he could only be an employee and would have to start over. Additionally, according to Briley, the group renting his building is seriously in arrears on their lease payments.
In 2017, Briley and his partners received a default judgment for the past due amount, according to Briley.
Briley had these comments.
Briley said he already has a second nurse practitioner in place, Susan Martin, of Parsons, Who he says is a “seasoned professional” that has been in practice since 2001. Briley said he has heard from many hundreds of former patients either personally or on social media and they are excited he is going to be back in business. Briley said the office in south Jackson is open and seeing patients beginning today.
