Lewis Bail Bonds – owner, brother post $5,000 bond each

Brothers Darryl Ray Lewis and David A. Lewis, who were arrested for theft of property and failure to pay taxes, posted bond of $5,000 each, after appearing before Circuit Court Judge Roy B. Morgan Jr., at the Criminal Justice Complex, Wednesday.

Darryl Ray Lewis owns Lewis Bail Bonds, 212 E. Main St., but it is not known if his brother, David, is a co-owner.

According to court documents, Darryl Ray Lewis and David A. Lewis, on or about January of 2016 through June of 2017, in Madison County, Tennessee, and before the finding of this indictment, did knowingly obtain and/or exercise control over property, equal to or over the value of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00), without the effective consent of the owner, to-wit; the State of Tennessee, with the intent to deprive the said owner thereof, in violation of T.C.A. 39-14-103, all of which is against the peace and dignity of the State of Tennessee.

The Grand Jurors of Madison County, Tennessee, duly empaneled and sworn, upon their oath, present that Darryl Ray Lewis and David A. Lewis, on about January of 2016 through June of 2017, in Madison County, Tennessee, and before the finding of this indictment, did willfully, attempt to evade or defeat taxes, over the amount of $10,000.00, due the State of Tennessee, in violation of T.C.A. 67-1-1440 (g), all of which is against the peace and dignity of the State of Tennessee.
