An iconic Jackson restaurant that opened August 22, 1965, closes its doors at the corner of history and tradition, Saturday.
Baudo’s Restaurant which first opened as B&H Pizza in the Hollywood Shopping Center, ends a 54-year run at 559 Wiley Parker Rd., with what is expected to be a full-day of visitors looking to savor one last meal, and entertainment to bring the curtain down at midnight.
For those who are entertaining the idea of having dinner at Baudo’s, Saturday, hopefully the wait will be worth the while.
“We’re not taking reservations, but we’ve had several great responses,” said Jack Baudo operations manager at Baudo’s, “Paula Bridges (Band) performs at South Street (ComedyClub) at 8:30 p.m., and from 11:30 (p.m.) to midnight, we’ll have disco, with the final song being ‘Last Dance,’ by Diane Summer.”

When Baudo’s announced it was closing, January 2, Jack said business has been great, and a majority of people have asked to talk to him or his sister Sharon Baudo Smith – to tell them their story about an experience they had at the restaurant.
The restaurant, which moved to 559 Wiley Parker Rd., in 1972, was listed for sale by management in June 2017, with an asking price of $550,000.
South Street, an entertainment venue at Baudo’s, is part of the 8,486-square-foot facility.
A parking lot (0.81 acres) across the street from the restaurant – also owned by the Baudo family – was listed in the sale for $199,000.
