Expanding a generational legacy of stewardship and philanthropic partnership, Lane College is proud to announce a significant advancement in its long-term financial strategy through its participation in the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Pooled Endowment Program.
Lane is a long-standing member of the UNCF and receives an annual distribution in support of its mission. This step reflects a deepened commitment to strengthening the institution’s financial foundation while thoughtfully diversifying its existing asset management strategy.
As a strong endorsement of this direction, the Lane College Board of Trustees approved a formal resolution authorizing participation in the program, affirming the College’s confidence in its financial advisors and in the overall stewardship of its resources. The institution’s participation in the pooled endowment compliments the strong management already in place, adding an additional layer of diversity within the investment portfolio, and aligns Lane with a nationally respected philanthropic partner.
Lane’s ability to enter the pooled endowment is supported in part by the transformational gift from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, whose contribution provided the necessary momentum for this strategic step. The UNCF has amplified this opportunity by offering a $5 million match to increase Lane’s pooled endowment investment. A match that signals national philanthropic confidence in the institution and elevates collegiate visibility among donors who value institutions that plan strategically and act with purpose.
