Letter from Kyle Spurgeon, Jackson Chamber president/CEO on the announcement of the resignation of Dr. Eric Jones as superintendent of Jackson-Madison Count Schools.
“Dr. Eric Jones was hired to do a job, and he did that job to the best of his ability under very trying circumstances. The Madison County Commission, Jackson City Council, the Jackson Chamber and others have supported the plans and direction of our public school system and that support must continue.
Eric has developed a very strong team of leaders who have the ability to lead our system and continue to implement programs which have already produced significant gains in educational outcomes.
The future of every child in the system and every resident of our community hinges on the decisions that are and will be made by the existing school board.”
