First opened in 1978, Kmart, 732 Old Hickory Blvd., is closing.
Sears Holdings, which owns Kmart, made the announcement Friday.
The Jackson location is one of 35 more Kmart stores scheduled to close by early October, with an additional eight Sears stores.
Sears, 2021 North Highland Ave., in the Old Hickory Mall, survived the latest round of cuts.
