Jackson Police Arrest Suspect in Fatal Shooting of Schuyler Taylor

 

[Jackson, TN] – The Jackson Police Department has announced an arrest in connection with the fatal shooting of Schuyler Taylor, which occurred in early January.

 

On January 4, 2026, at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the parking lot of King Babas, located at 76 Old Hickory Blvd E. Schuyler Taylor arrived at a local hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds where he later succumbed to his injuries.

 

The Jackson Police Department’s Major Crimes Division has been aggressively investigating the case since the date of the incident. Utilizing critical tips provided by members of the community, Gary McNeal II was indicted by the Madison County Grand Jury on Monday March 2nd on the charge of Second-Degree Murder and Employing a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony.

 

With the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, McNeal was taken into custody this morning in the 800 block of Old Hickory Blvd. McNeal will be held at the Madison County Jail until his arraignment.
