Madison County – Summer break is almost here, but before the last day of school, May 22, make sure your student is registered for the 2018-2019 school year. This is especially true for parents of 5-year-olds who will begin kindergarten in the Jackson-Madison County School System in August.
Registration is underway for all children who will be 5-years-old on or before August 15, 2018. All registration forms must be submitted online. Visit jmcss.org and click the “Families” tab, then “Registration.”
If your student attended Pre-K in one of the District’s schools, after filling out the “Current Students” registration form online, you do not have to submit any additional documents. However, if any of your student’s information needs to be updated, you must make those changes at your student’s school.
If your kindergartner will be a new student in the District, along with completing the online “New Students” registration form, you will need to submit the following documents in-person at your child’s zoned school:
- Birth certificate
- Shot records on a Tennessee Immunization form
- Proof of school entry physical
- Parent photo ID
- Three (3) proofs of address
Please, register online as soon as possible, even if you have not gathered all the necessary forms.
