Festivities in Jackson kick off on July 4th with the Firefighters Freedom Festival, a free, family-oriented festival and 4th of July fireworks.
This event includes activities for children, food vendors, and live music. Join the Madison County Fire Department at McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport, Wednesday.
Gates open at 3 p.m., and the music will begins one hour later, with Rev. Jessie and the Holy Smokes highlighting the event.
Later in the evening, enjoy a 30-minute firework show beginning around dusk.
Bring your lawn chair and blanket and visit the available concession stands while enjoying an evening of family fun in celebration. For more information, call 424-5577.
You can also celebrate the 4th at the Ballpark at Jackson at 6 p.m., when the Jackson Generals, the Double A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks play the Tennessee Smokies (Chicago Cubs). Stick around after the game for a post-game fireworks show.
