JACKSON Tenn – Circuit Court Judge Judge Don Allen rejects a plea deal for the man accused of breaking into several Jackson businesses.

Andy Kim pleaded guilty to six counts of burglary, one count of vandalism and one count of theft stemming from multiple incidents at local stores between the time December 2015 to June 2016. The agreement would have dismissed six of his 14 charges.
However, Judge Don Allen rejected the plea. “I just don’t think it’s appropriate to dismiss all those charges said Allen.
As part of a deal the state had agreed to dismiss six of the felony theft charges .
Judge Allen asked the states’ attorney why the state had done so when Kim had admitted to the thefts. The states’ attorney said the agreement was “consistent” with what is done for others in similar situations.
Allen noted the the 6 charges were felony thefts over $1,000 as part of his reason for not accepting the plea.
Attorney Mark Donahoe represents Kim. said he didn’t expect the court to take that position.
