From the Jackson Police Department
[Jackson, Tennessee] – On December 7, 2025 at approximately 11:36 pm, the Jackson Police Department, along with assistance from the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), safely apprehended two individuals following a pursuit and a separate DUI-related crash that resulted in minor injuries to officers.
THP advised JPD of a maroon Chevrolet Corvette involved in multiple hit-and-run crashes in Gibson County.
The vehicle was last seen traveling south on U.S. 45 toward Jackson. A JPD officer located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop; however, the driver refused to stop and was unable to maintain their lane of travel.
The suspect entered Interstate 40 from the U.S. 45 Bypass, exited at Highland Avenue, crossed multiple lanes of traffic, jumped the curb, and drove through the grass to reenter I-40. At that time, two of the vehicle’s four tires were flat. MCSO successfully deployed spike strips, but the driver continued fleeing at approximately 35 mph.
Due to the driver’s refusal to stop and ongoing danger to the public, an officer initiated a rolling roadblock. The suspect intentionally struck the rear of a patrol unit and then struck a second unit in an attempt to escape. After striking an officer’s vehicle a second time, the suspect’s vehicle was disabled and brought to a stop. The driver was taken into custody without further incident.
The driver of the Corvette faces multiple charges, including:
- Felony Evading
- Light Law Violation
- Reckless Driving
- (2) Counts of Disobeying a Traffic Signal
- DUI
- Violation of Implied Consent
- (2) Counts of Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement
While officers were working the scene of the pursuit, a second, unrelated crash occurred. A female driver struck a patrol vehicle, pushing it into a second unit. That vehicle rolled forward and struck three officers. All officers sustained only minor injuries. The Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated the second crash. The female driver was determined to be under the influence and is being charged by THP with:
- DUI
- (3) Counts of Reckless Aggravated Assault
The Jackson Police Department is grateful that no officers or community members suffered serious injuries during these incidents. We appreciate the cooperation and assistance from THP, MCSO, and all responding agencies.
