From the Jackson Police Department –

Officers with Jackson Police Department responded to a report of a female shot in her home on Sunday, August 16, 2020 around 2:15 p.m., at 19 L Tricia Cove.

Shewanna Cross, 53-years-old, was found deceased when officers arrived.

Investigators were able to determine her son, Curdarius Cross, 20-years-old, as a suspect.

Curdarius Cross was taken into custody Sunday night in Nashville, TN.

This investigating is ongoing and further information will be released as it becomes available.

Investigators are not looking for any other suspects at this time.
