From the Jackson Police Department –

Jackson Police confirm, Sandra Gayton, the suspect from the recent homicide on S. Fairgrounds Street has been apprehended.

On 08/07/2020 at 3:19 p.m., officers with the Jackson Police Department responded to a stabbing at the corner of S. Fairgrounds Street and Scott Street.

Officers found a white female with a laceration to her neck. EMS responded but the female died at the scene as a result of her injuries.

Sandra Gayton was identified as the suspect.
