JP Stovall, who was elected as City Councilman District 1, Tuesday, becomes an on-air personality at 93.1 FM, Monday.
Grace Media Group – NEWS/TALK 101.5 FM, 93.1 FM & WNWS.COM – caught up with JP (John Patrick) for a question and answer session.
Question: First a little background information. Where are you originally from, family, education?
Answer: I am from Jackson, Tennessee. I was born and raised here. I’m a graduate of South Side High School, and I also hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Lee University.
Question: You will be working with Grace Media Group, broadcasting your own show starting Monday.
Would you tell us what you have in store for your listeners, starting with the name of the show, days and time?
Answer: The name of the show is the Patriot Pastor. It will air Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. We’ll be covering national news, local events. Also, religion and politics.
Question: The Patriot Pastor – tell us how that was selected?
Answer: I am a Christian Conservative. I currently serve as the Lead/Senior Pastor of Victory Worship Center. So, the name was my idea which I think fits perfectly with the format of the show.
Question: What motivated you to have a talk radio show?
Answer: Having been involved in radio in the past it has been something that I have thoroughly enjoyed. So I am looking forward to getting back into it.
Question: What is the format for the show?
Answer: We’ll be taking calls and text messages through the show. I am looking forward to discussing religion, politics, and anything else our callers want to get into.
Question: What were your thoughts when you won the City Council seat, Tuesday, and how do you plan on serving the people of District 1?
Answer: It felt great to win on Tuesday night. We had the biggest win of all of the contested races garnering 70 percent of the vote.
I hope to be a city councilman the people of district one can depend on to stand up for and speak out for the needs of the District.
I want to serve and represent the people of District 1 with a servant’s heart.
