Jimmy Bailey Named New Director at Casey Jones Museum
 
JACKSON, TN – May 15th, 2014 –  T. Clark Shaw, CEO of Brooks Shaw's Old Country Store in Casey Jones Village, announced today that Jimmy Bailey has been named the Executive Director of Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum effective May 12th. 
 
Bailey is a Jacksonian who spent thirty years in education with the Jackson-Madison County School system.  As an administrator he served as the principal at Northeast Middle School, Bemis Elementary School, Arlington International Leadership School and South Elementary School. Prior to that he taught at North Parkway Middle School and early in his career at high schools in Shelby County.  He served in leadership on many education committees throughout his career and is a past president and board member of the Jackson-Madison County Education Association and served as a board member for the Tennessee Education Association.
 
He has his Licensure in Professional Administration from the University of Memphis and received his Masters of Arts in Education from Bethel College.  He received his Bachelor of Science from Memphis State University in Memphis, Tennessee and is a graduate of Jackson Central Merry High School. 
 
Shaw said, "We are exceptionally pleased about Jimmy being a part of our Casey Jones Village team as the new Director at Casey Jones Museum.  We feel his background as an educator and administrator plus his enthusiasm for the many opportunities at this historic site are a great fit for us.  We look forward to the exciting new initiatives we will be working on together for the Jackson and West Tennessee community as well as our travelers from around the world."
 
The Museum's former Executive Director, Lawrence Taylor, and his wife, Norma Taylor, who served as the Museum Historian, retired in April of 2013.
