Michael Jemison, 40, was indicted by the Madison County, Tennessee Grand Jury for two counts of burglary and three counts of cruelty to animals, December 7, 2018.
According to a press release from Jody Pickens, District Attorney General, 26th Judicial District, the indictment was the result of an investigation that determined that on April 29, 2018, and again on May 5, 2018, Jemison entered Redemption Road Rescue, 130 Cooper Anderson Road, where he engaged in sex acts with a horse.
The defendant plead guilty to all counts of the indictment on April 29, 2019.
He was sentenced to a total effective sentence of five years in the Tennessee Department of Corrections.
The sentence was ordered to run consecutive to the remainder of the sentence he had previously received as a result of his conviction in the United States District Court for possession of child pornography and for which he was on supervised release at the time of the incident giving rise to the current prosecution.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney General Matthew Floyd.
The primary investigating agency was the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
