According to Jackson Energy Authority, several power outages are scattered all across the area due to afternoon storm.

Problem is within the main South Jackson Substation that feeds power to several key lines and stations in Jackson.

This is NOT a problem with any TVA feed but is within the Substation.

Crews continue to work to determine problem. 5000+ customers are currently without power.

A key TVA / JEA transmission source is out effective 8:09 pm which has disruptive power supply to approximately 5,000 JEA utility customers.

Situation is being assessed by crews to determine outage cause.

Power is out in several areas mid and downtown and south.
